ouch
So it was freezing cold out, so i bundled up a bit more, and crossed town toward the train station, in the rough direction of the black smoke, which was barely visible above the glare of the well-lit streets. I got to a spot where the view was unobstructed, and it was basically pluming and belching out of somewhere across the river, behind the hill that hides residential Danvers or west Beverly. People are saying a power plant exploded, which would be in line with me feeling it nearly mile away, and would be in line with the ginormous tongues of flame and smoke licking up out of that region.
Thing is, I checked Google Earth, and there IS nothing in that direction except residences; i mean unless it's that Armstrong Machine shop way over there by Liberty Tree, but i mean, not even Magnesium can set off a 200 ton explosion - can it? No that can't be it - the visual angle I was getting, at that distance, is too big, the fire would have to have been immense.
But there's nothing else OVER there but houses...
